Seasoned singer songwriter, Leoni Gardner, lives in the beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland to the north-west of Maleny.  She has a rare musical ministry with a prophetic edge, and is sought after for performances at churches, conferences and festivals across Australia.  She is redrawing the boundaries of Gospel music with songs that are both beautiful and inspirational with a Celtic/’Enya-esque’ sound, blended with sincere, compelling lyrics.  Her message is fuelled by a genuine love for God, a deep faith, and zealous calling; while her distinctive song writing style gives her a unique edge in the vast and complex world of contemporary Christian music.

From a musical family, Leoni first sang on stage in one of Sydney’s largest Baptist churches at the tender age of 4.  During her high school years she took the lead roles in a number of school musicals before being selected as one of only four International Exchange students to attend The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) in Houston Texas (USA), where she undertook studies in performance for both piano and voice for her final school year.

Upon her return to Australia at 18 years of age, Leoni gained a position as a singer and dancer in the nationally acclaimed Canberra Theatre production of Jesus Christ Superstar, which ran for 16 consecutive nights.  She then went on to study Jazz Composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and performed with a number of leading Gospel musicians at concerts and other Christian events in both Canberra and Sydney.  It was about this time that Leoni also discovered she had the gift of song writing, and began to write prolifically and make basic recordings.

After a very tumultuous start to life, and consequent troubled teenage years, Leoni chose to give her life over to the Lord Jesus Christ, and because of the amazing transformation Jesus worked in her life, says she has never looked back.  Since that time, she has spent many years performing, studying, perfecting her craft and composing over 200 songs, in not only Celtic, but a variety of other musical genres also.  Since the year 2000, she has performed at the Sydney Olympic Stadium (with her own composition ‘More Than Gold’), throughout the eastern states of Australia, and also in the U.S., where she also appeared on satellite television.

As Leoni has not only felt the deep call of God upon her life to her ministry in music, she has also seen His miraculous hand in providing for its needs, and thus as a faith-based ministry she has considered it a privilege to share and distribute much of her music freely over the Pacific Islands, South America, Africa, and throughout the world via satellite television networks, the Internet, and world radio networks.  She also hopes to take up a number of personal invitations to various countries in the African continent - as God directs - during 2010/11 where she plans not only to share her ministry in word and song, but through her contacts with several orphanages, to also help them fulfil their dream of recording their beautiful children’s choirs.

Leoni has recorded two full albums, two EPs, a DVD (almost complete), and is working on a film clip for her latest soon-to-be-released single ‘It’s Time, It’s Time’.  She is also working on new material for her next few CDs, as well as a major production she hopes - God willing - will come together over the next two years; an audio-visual project with the aim of arousing the church and the world to a deep sense of where - according to Bible prophecy - we are in earth’s history, and to urge all to earnestly seek the Lord and get ready for Jesus’ soon return.
